A warm welcome to our website which we hope you will find informative, helpful and encouraging.

Rathgar Methodist Church is situated in a richly ecumenical part of south Dublin and has been serving the community here since 1874. We are situated at the junction of Brighton Road and Garville Avenue, within easy reach of Harold’s Cross, Terenure and Rathmines.

(by John Humphreys)

Loving God, help me to recognise the things to which I must die: the mere routine of church life, the prejudice which lies unspoken and yet shouting within me,the carelessness with which I read your Word in the scriptures, thehabits which crowd out spontaneity, the fear of listening too closely to my neighbour.

Loving God, you created life, you created me for life. You offer life to be lived with celebration, with joy and with love for the sharing of your kingdom, for the speaking of your justice and in gratitude for your grace. Help me to live for, with and in you freely, willingly and delightfully reaching for the passion

May the God whose power breaks through the stone
Break into your life and free you from all that binds you.
May the risen Christ whose love is stronger than death
speak your name and bring you new life and joy.
May the Spirit who walks the road with you
give you wisdom to understand and courage to share
God's new life for the whole world.
