Welcome

Welcome to Rathgar Methodist Church in Dublin!

What one generation tolerates, the next generation will embrace. (John Wesley)

Rathgar Methodist church was established in 1874 and has been serving God in South City Dublin for 146 years.  First of all, our church is deeply rooted in the love of Christ.  Our mission is to create life changing worship and provide fellowship opportunities for people of all ages.  We strive to build relationships beyond the walls of our church.

Prayer

God who stills the waters and quiets the storm,
God who lets not a hair of our heads fall without your knowledge,
God who brings sight to the blind and words to quieted tongues,
God who created the earth and all that is in it,
God who teaches the foolish and strengthens the wise,
God who promises a coming day
when there will be no more mourning or crying or pain,
when death will pass away,
when all things will be made new:

Bring healing to our world, to our neighbours, and to us.
Bring wisdom so we may honour you and bring glory to you in these
days of plague.
Bring strength so we may rejoice in your love.
Bring patience that is grounded in actively living in your ways.
Bring hope that is rooted in your good news of shalom.
Bring grace and calm to us so we may bring grace and calm to others.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

Prayer for Church Unity:
Lord Jesus, you prayed that your people would be one, forgive us Lord and take away the pride and arrogance which divides your church. Break down the walls which separate us; unite us with your bonds of love and accomplish your will. We pray that by the power of your Spirit your healing would work in the body of your church and through me, to bring about the purpose of your will. Amen.
