Visit of Dr. Klaus-Dieter John

Dr. Klaus-Dieter John and his wife Martina, a paediatrician, had a vision for a state-of-the-art hospital to bring medical care to the indigenous Quechua people in the highlands of Peru. As part of his autumn lecture tour of the UK and Ireland, he visited Rathgar Methodist Church where he gave an enthralling account of the genesis of the Diospi Suyana Hospital and its physical, emotional and spiritual impact on the local people and the wider world. He is seen here pictured with Valmai Gee, Orla Kenny and Rev. Vanessa Wyse Jackson where he signed copies of his book "I Have Seen God". As a memento of his visit, Dr. John was presented with a history of Rathgar Methodist Church and a book of traditional recipes compiled by the Peruvian Community in Ireland in aid of a number of development projects in Peru.
